Russian Government Restricting Twitter in Its Country
The social media platform Twitter is being restricted in Russia for some users, the company confirmed in a tweet on Saturday. Twitter said it’s working hard to ensure the service is safe and accessible for its users. It’s unknown whether Twitter was aware of Russia’s plans to restrict their service beforehand. Tyler Berry was one of the first people to be arrested under Canada’s newest law, Bill C-3, which criminalizes the harassment and intimidation of healthcare providers and patients. Abby Broyles, 32, a candidate for Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District, allegedly became drunk during a sleepover party and berated tweens, parents say. On February 11, eight girls aged 12 to 13 attended a party at the home of a Deer Creek Public Schools parent. Peterborough police arrested two men in connection with the so-called “Freedom Convoy” that took place Saturday. A participant in the convoy, Sammy Bertrand, 34, was charged with assault, while an unidentified counter-protester, 33, was charged with intimidation. In the morning hours of Saturday, a small group of counter-protesters gathered across from Fleming College with the intention of disrupting the convoy. Over 100 Arrested As Police Look To End the Occupation in Ottawa
Ottawa Police arrested more than a hundred people yesterday as the effort to retake the downtown streets from the so-called “Freedom Convoy” protesters continued. Last night, police from Ottawa, the OPP and the RCMP arrested protesters refusing to leave the downtown core. Ontario Government Lifting Capacity Limits on Businesses, Social Gatherings Early
Starting today, there will be no capacity restrictions on restaurants, gyms, and cinemas that must screen patrons for vaccination against COVID-19. As COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to drop in the province, the Ontario Government is lifting all most indoor capacity limits, signalling a gradual return to “normal.” Restaurants, gyms, and movie theatres that are currently required to implement the government’s vaccine passport system will no longer have capacity restrictions.
