“Wokeness” Is Ruining Scrabble According to Some

Toy maker Mattel is being accused of caving in to the “woke” mob after recently removing offensive words from the official Scrabble score list.

Hundreds of words, including slurs about race, sexuality, and gender, have been removed from the official scoring dictionary of the 91-year-old game. Also strangely banned were the words Nancy, Jesuit, and Jew.

Competitive Scrabble player Jonathan Maitland said many professional players are abandoning the board game due to the changes.

“Can you imagine any other game where you can score points and win by using a racial epithet?

Others claim that dictionaries do not contain slurs and that only words used with a derogatory purpose can become slurs.

It is unclear whether Scrabble’s maker Mattel will release an official list of banned words, however its global head of games, Ray Adler, said the company is looking at ways to modernize the classic word game.
