Catarina Orduña Pérez was just like any other Mexican great-grandmother before she passed away at 99. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and had an unmatched affinity for the male reproductive organ.
Despite growing up in poverty and never attending school as a child, Pérez became an influential member of the town of Misantla through sheer determination and hard work. In town, she was known for her forward-thinking attitude and avant-garde style.
It was a longstanding desire of Pérez’s to have a penis statue adorned on her tomb when she died. The family and people of Misantla were fully aware of this. Before her death in early 2021, her grandson Álvaro Mota Limón asked her about the longstanding request.
His grandmother’s desire to not be forgotten after her death prompted the family to fulfill her phallic dreams.
Mota Limón called local engineer Isidro Lavoignet to see if he was willing and able to complete the project. Initially, Lavoignet thought the request was a joke, but soon realized that it had come from a woman who frequently broke taboos.
It took a team of twelve people working for nearly a month to erect the giant schlong. One of the hardest parts of the statue to construct were the massive balls which were prone to deforming.
The family of Pérez unveiled the 5-and-a-half-foot-tall, 600-pound circumcised penis and balls recently for a celebration to honour her love of life.
While the giant dick statue has not been welcomed by all in the community, Lavoignet’s company has certainly benefited from the attention. He’s now making custom headstones for others!
