Matthew Lewis, who played the nerdy Neville Longbottom in the Happy Potter films, took to Twitter Friday to put Air Canada on blast.
In a tweet he sent out on Friday, the actor (who has had a major glowup since his wizarding days) called Air Canada “the worst airline in North America”.
According to Lewis, he was told by gate staff that he would have to give up his first class seat and sit in the back of the plane with the rest of the commoners. He also claims that almost no notice was given and airline staff even ripped up his ticket.
Lewis was told the flight he was supposed to be on had been oversold and he would have to speak with a customer service representative to sort things out. There is just one problem: the customer service desk is located in Toronto, about 1,700 kilometres away.
In a statement to CTV News Toronto, Lewis said “Air Canada customer service is shite, and we as a society should not be okay with normalizing the profiteering of overbooking and kicking people off flights.”
Lewis is traveling to Toronto this weekend for Fan Expo, a convention for comic book, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming fans.
