[NSFW] Rappin’ for Jesus: This Cringe-Worthy Video Is Making the Rounds Again, but Is It Real?

Social media is buzzing again with a viral video almost a decade old, but was it real or was the entire thing staged? Let’s check it out.

The video’s uploader, Brian Spinney, is a “proud father of two, loving husband, and devoted Christian” from Iowa. Despite only having one video on his YouTube channel, he has over 81,000,000 views, and 110,000 subscribers.

The video in question is the almost decade-old viral video titled “Rappin’ for Jesus.” The almost 3-minute video purports to be a music video created by a former high school student for his church. It’s extremely uncomfortable to watch, and pretty racist.

Warning: This video, while believed to be a parody, still casually uses the N-word. Discretion is advised.

For years, questions have floated about the authenticity of the video due to its ridiculous nature. Fortunately, YouTuber wavywebsurf analyzed the details and explains why he believes this video was nothing more than a viral video attempt.

So there you go: Rappin’ for Jesus was an elaborate and convincing hoax.
